The first special Agrarian Law Conference by the UBA

On 13th of May the Agrarian Law Conference that was organized by the Ukrainian Bar Association was held in Kyiv. IMG Partners became a partner of this conference. By the initiative of the UBA’s Agricultural Law Committee, Managing Partner of IMG Partners Ihor Melnyk was appointed as a chairman of the conference organizing committee.

First section dealt with cooperation of state authorities and representatives of the agricultural business. To discuss these questions   government representatives and influential agricultural associations were invited. This section was moderating by Chairman of the Agricultural Law UBA - Igor Melnyk, Managing Partner AG IMG Partners.

Partner of IMG Partners, Mykola Struts who has more experience in ensuring the safety of agrarian business, highlighted the practical aspects of the rights of the creditor in the bankruptcy of agricultural enterprises.

Participants also discussed the possibility of attracting foreign investments to the agricultural sector and the perspectives for consistent reforming of agro-industrial complex primarily in order to enter the international markets. Besides this, relevant issues of the new taxes on agribusiness in Ukraine and taxation peculiarities of the agricultural sector of Europe and other markets were considered on the conference.

As a result of this conference, main achievements, defeats and new challenges of reforming the agricultural-industrial complex were clearly defined.
