Today, there are more and more different ways of raider hijacking using illegal mechanisms: forgery of court decisions, entering into a conspiracy with the state registrar, falsification of title documents for a real estate object, etc.

In order to counter such situations, on 06.10.2016, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Improvement of the State Registration of Rights to Real Estate and the Protection of Ownership Rights" (the "Law"). It is clear from the explanatory note that the Law is aimed at protecting business from unlawful seizure (raid).
